So, as it turns out I am going to be doing custom knitted hats and scarves through the comic book shop that my “brother” Brock owns (Platinum Comix and Games; Burien, WA).

Tonight Brock took me to see some local bands play down at the Studio Seven in Georgetown/The SoDo District and in one of the bands, Mökshya, the lead singer was wearing this hat. Being the geeky knitter I am, I decided to get a closer look at the hat and see if I could knit something similar. Thankfully Brock is friends with the guys in the band so they let me see it.

So, after talking to the guy I am going to make him a hat, he will wear it at his shows and will “pimp the product”.

I am now the knitter of geek stuff and band apparel. Go me

When he worked at Wendy’s he’d bring home chicken nuggets and they’d eat them together. Watching a cat nom-nom-nom on nuggets is one of the cutest things I have ever seen a cat do.

Yesterday morning Lauren’s (his wife) dog killed the cat, by snapping her neck, in the kitchen. So they put both of the pits to sleep yesterday. Both because the other one had been acting up and showing all sorts of aggressive behavior.

All three of the four legged pets gone in one day. Crazy shit.

Now I want to make one, but I’m thinking one of the castles without the princess the whole “your princess is in another castle” thing would be funny as hell on a scarf. Only problems are that I have way too much crap in my queue already that I *need* to finish and I have no money to buy yarn with

Today mom got an e-mail from one of her corn husker cousins saying that another one of them went to the emergency room with an ear infection and ended up having an MRI and a colonoscopy then never came out of it.

Found out that she’d been having strokes and seizuers and not telling anyone. She’s in a coma now from the sedation of the colonoscopy and doesn’t have much longer to live.

The sister of the woman in the coma hasn’t spoken to any of her siblings since their mom died, about fifteen years ago. Mom, or her cousin, had an address for her and they did a search and came up with a number, called and left a message. So now I’m charged with telling the sister, if she calls, what is going on with her sister that she hasn’t spoken to in over a decade.

Talia called me yesterday and told me that her mom gave her a bunch of yarn and stuff to give to me. So I went over to her house to get it… two paper bags and a box overfull of yarn plus three old issues of Knitting World: June 1980, October 1989, and the scary one… December 1982. The issue from the month I was born, crazy stuff.

Now I have a 45 gallon Rubermaid tub on wheels and a 95 quart tub full of yarn and other knitting supplies.

My GM got the e-mail from EAMythic with 75 codes for our guild for the guild beta on Wednesday. A crapton of people I don’t even remember have been showing up asking for codes, I do know a fair chunk of them or at least recognize their names but some of them I’m wondering who the hell they are. Two of the guys I know that only I and the GM have a clue who they are; one a long, long term friend of mine and the other my boy toy ^_^

One of the other members though was throwing a bloody fit on the guild forums about how all these people are coming out of the woodwork because of the codes. There are 75, you’re getting one, why the hell do you care where the others are all coming from? Pissyhead buttmunch, I swear.

I’m going to laugh when half of the people given codes won’t be in beta because of their shoddy systems. I even posted on the site about how I think the graphic sliders aren’t in yet so it’ll require pretty intensive specs but I’m sure most don’t have anything that can really handle it. My best guess is that if a comp can run AoC on middle settings that will be high enough specs for WAR beta. I know my machine can, mine can run AoC on high ^_^

I’ve sent the second geeked out WAR scarf off to someone at EAMythic but have not heard anything from them to signify if they have received it or not so I am holding off on posting a page on it. The third geeked out scarf I have started and frogged a couple of times and I’m satisfied with the way it is turning out this time so I’ll continue with it as is for now.

Also, Tim got his hat and has said that it is now his favorite hat

This wasn’t really my brightest idea ever… it took over two hours just connecting the weaving loops together and the lumps from where they connect make it feel funny on the feet. Though that should go away as it ages.

Mom likes it, guess that’s all that counts.

Today I was looking around at my local Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft store and I found this “PhotoFabric” stuff. It is fabric with a paper backing that can go through inkjet printers.

The package says that it is hand wash or dry clean only but I made a test label to see what would happen when machine washing. I’m going to use them even if it will make it so all the things I make will have to be hand washed, they’re just so cute!

I stuck the sample one onto the inside of the hat I made for Tim (<3) that will go through the wash this Sunday so we’ll see what happens!
